The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has an ambitious program to build  larger fishing harbours that can accommodate cold stores and canning  industries, and have embarked on several aquaculture projects.

 

The PAEW builds one or two desalination and power generation plants every year to cope with the annual increase in demand.  These require intake and outfall structures in the sea and on land.

Haya requires disposal outfalls into the sea, the economic and free zones  require water for cooling and also berthing facilities for their vessels, the Ministry of Transport and Communications wants to develop minerals handling port  facilities for export of aggregates and other ores.

 

Omran has programs to build touristic resorts and marinas. These intense activities in Oman create a thriving market for marine works.
